For those of you who don’t know, I work for retail heaven Saks Fifth Avenue in Sarasota, Florida. Recently, we have added the Le Métier de Beauté line, and the entire county is a buzz with the new and exclusive union. As a younger line (established in 2007), Le Métier has developed into a cult favorite for makeup artists and beauty ethusiasts (like me) thanks to their cutting-edge collaborations with designers such as Oscar de la Renta and Marchesa, as well as their limited-edition palettes and runway-inspired hues.

When you come into Saks Fifth Avenue, Marlein Arias will be the Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Specialist. I had the pleasure of discussing the new venture with the makeup veteran and here’s what she had to say:

What is it about the Le Métier de Beauté line that excites you and sets it apart from other lines? Le Métier de Beauté uses new makeup techniques that create fresh looks, where other lines can create looks that are too dated. In addition, there are no oils in any of the products, a benefit for your skin.

Which product can’t you wait to get on your clients? Which product is a must have? The skincare is what I am mostly excited about. It’s different from the other lines I’ve worked with because of the patented Syntoc Actif Delivery System. The Replenishing Daily Solution is a must have because it can be used with any other product, and it has SPF 30, protecting skin from UV rays and environmental damage.

How would the average person find application? Application is easy, and products such as the Kaleidoscope palettes allow color layering, which provide an updated fresh aesthetic.

How would you describe the Le Métier de Beauté client? Sophisticated, knowledgable, and someone who prefers warrented skincare products, without fragrances or oils.

To schedule an appointment at Saks Fifth Avenue Sarasota, Marlein may be reached at 941-364-5328 or Marlein_Arias@s5a.com.

Also, keep an eye out for the new Indian Summer nail polish collection. Inspired by the incredibly hot temperatures, the shades include Wild Ginger and Penny Lane, retailing for $18 each.
